Using YouTube To Market Your Business

Is video marketing something that is right for your business? Well, if you are in business to make money, the answer is probably, “Yes”.

Video marketing is what the TV and Infomercial business is all about. Video is a multi-billion dollar industry – it is not a hobby. People consume videos and at an unbelievable rate and the networks know it. The networks produce video content to get you to watch paid commercials, and you do it. The commercials are expensive to run, but they work – that’s why advertisers keep running them.

Simply put – video sells more than anything. Period.

Ours is a media-driven, MTV culture. We’ve been conditioned to watch short, punchy videos. Our news is even delivered in short, 30-second sound bites.

‘Short’ is the important word here. Studying viewer attention show a drop off at 3 minute, and a second drop occurs between 4 and 5 minute. The maximum video length is around 7 minutes – about the length of time between TV commercials. After that, people are bored and have moved on to the next video.

Short videos that have a story engage your audience and let you speak directly to them. Compelling videos show how a product solves a problem, makes life good again, and end with a call for the viewer to take action – like Call Now! We want that all to action to happen before they leave. People obey compelling videos, too – especially when they stick around to hear the call to action…

Video production used to demand studios, expensive equipment and software. Making a video was simply out of the question unless you were a national chain. But that has all changed in the digital world.

Today, you can make your own compelling digital videos, right on your computer desktop. You probably already have the software you need, too. You don’t need expensive cameras or lights. In fact, many effective videos don’t use a camera at all! And you don’t need to appear onscreen, and you don’t even need to speak.

Here’s an example of a small, single-person business using videos to bring new customers to her Camarillo Hair Salon.

In the next few pages you’ll learn the secret of making our own short, 30-second to minute long video that tells a story and helps you sell a product. Then you’ll put it on your own YouTube channel, just like an expensive TV ad, but without the cost.
